Statement of the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Armenian armed forces continue intensive shelling and rocket attacks of densely populated residential areas, social and cultural facilities as well as using banned cluster munitions as part of the act of aggression against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
On the instructions of the Armenian military-political leadership, which did not give up its aggressive policy and criminal actions, Armenian armed forces target civilian and non-military facilities in Ganja, Tartar, Mingachevir, Shamkir, Tovuz, Naftalan, Khizi, Yevlakh and other cities far beyond the conflict zone. By doing so, Armenia is openly committing crimes against humanity and war crimes.
Very often the victims of Armenian aggression are children and youth. These cases are systematic and leave no doubt as to the deliberate nature of these attacks. Today, Mayakov Artur Vasilyevich, a young boy in his early teens, a citizen of the Russian Federation who were visiting his aunt in Ganja city while it was stricken with Scud ballistic missile launched from Armenia, passed away in spite of all efforts of the medical staff of the hospital where he had been nursed. His insatiable love of life and great dreams about future were ruined by the Armenian aggressors.
The same day, in another Azerbaijani city of Tartar, a 16 years-old boy Ismayilzada Orkhan was hit to death by a Smerch rocket launched by the Armenian aggressors, while he was collecting persimmons in the garden of his house.
It is obvious that the feeling of impunity caused by the negligence of the international community emboldens Armenia to such atrocities as the missile attacks against civilians increase every day.
Armenia as a source of threat to regional and international peace and with its widespread practice of war crimes and crimes against humanity acts a 'rouge state'. The Armenian Government states that there is no diplomatic solution to this conflict and continues to forcefully send its youth to fight on the territory of the neighbouring country further fueling enmity and war crime spree.
As the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which unites the country's leading youth organizations and representatives of thousands of young people, we appeal to the world community to break silence and urge that Armenia ends its aggressive and terrorist policy in order to establish lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
